Our family and neighborhood had parents raised in the US, no survivors.Batyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11246929075812590204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5763532437435602439.post-6262076520577233692009-04-21T00:28:00.000-07:002009-04-21T00:28:00.000-07:00The Holocaust became real to me in the ninth grade...The Holocaust became real to me in the ninth grade when the television mini-series, "Holocaust" was aired for the first time.I think this was my first exposure to the reality of the Holocaust too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5763532437435602439.post-21757678289620883132009-04-20T20:58:00.000-07:002009-04-20T20:58:00.000-07:00You know, it's funny that you say that, Leora, tha...You know, it's funny that you say that, Leora, that never occurred to me. In some ways it's like learning about the birds and the bees from a peer, but maybe worse. Sigh.

My fourth grade teacher taught us about the Holocaust. I remember being afraid to take a shower for a while. I was afraid of a lot of things.Leorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12303493764579879710noreply@blogger.com
